About

Every pair starts with a hook, a spool of metallic thread, and a memory.

Fer Olivares learned to crochet from her mother as a child — a skill that sat quietly for years while she built a career in luxury PR, representing some of the world's most prestigious brands.

She spent a decade watching how the best brands in the world communicated. She learned what cheapens something and what elevates it. Then she started making earrings.

Not as a hobby. As a problem she needed to solve. She was looking for jewellery that was bold enough to be a statement and light enough to actually be comfortable — pieces she could wear from the pool to the wedding without compromise. They didn't exist. So she made them.

The technique took years to develop. The challenge with crochet jewellery is structure — most pieces collapse without resin, losing their texture and becoming plasticky. Fer found another way. Her pieces hold their three-dimensional form through the crochet structure itself and the final mix she concocted to keep their form. No resin. No compromise on texture.

The tools to make them fit in a pocket and the susteinability is real. The result wears like sculpture.

Fer is based in San Miguel de Allende — a UNESCO World Heritage city in the mountains of central México, and one of the great artisan cities of the world. She has been here for nine years. Her pieces are the best boutiques around town, other cities and on the ears of women who get stopped on the street. Every earring is made by hand, one at a time. Made to order. Never mass-produced. The craft is the story. She is the author.
